Tommy and Dena Lang As educators from North East Alabama, Tommy and I selected Smith Lake and the Cullman area to be our retirement home in 1998. The pristine lake waters became the setting of our casual cottage in the pines of Crane Hill.  The gracious and welcoming Cullman area residents provided an inviting atmosphere for community involvement and friendship. In 2000 our ownership of Cullman County property expanded with the purchase of a small farm for our grandchildren to experience and enjoy.  Always placing value and importance on land and legacy in our property purchasing decisions, we were immediately impressed with the unique and charming vision of Smith Lake RV Resort. The winding boardwalks and mammoth rock formations set the stage for picnics and hiking. The amenities and no maintenance responsibilities were enticing. Having been campers for many years, we saw the great potential being offered on the shores of Lewis Smith lake.
